Work explosion, general update, time to get serious eh?

Well, so this evening I found myself filling out forms for a clearance.... something I never thought I would endeavour to well.... want in the least (remember folks I'm an experienced IT consultant, more access means more responsibility... not always a good thing).  In any case I took a break from trying to dig up my credit report, last 700 friends, and such various informational bits to blog.  I havent been around much due to work being quite busy.  This is a bittersweet thing as well... lets face it work pays for my addiction to this crazy hobby of basement biology so well.... hear hear!
 
Deciding to jump back in a little bit and working over the last few months to re-organize my culture racks has gone slow.  I'm nowhwere close to realizing this years resolutions of identifying the Nassarius positively nor publishing my first paper.  ugh.  But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I'm still kicking and still have the interest and drive, just not the time.  Fear not folks, the copepodgeek will be back in action soon!  This year marks my first big public speaking event (more details to follow) and hopefully my trip to Michigan to catch up with my good friends over there with MASM and the MBI and of course the Annual Breeders Workshop.  More information at www.mbisite.org I highly suggest taking a look.
 
Interestingly enough my wife in her infinite wisdom and support suggested that I twitter my next research run stats.  Not only did this make sense from a public standpoint but it gives me a quick and dirty place to log and see what my results are.  Dont get me wrong the livescribe pen has been awesome but I'm a typer at heart.  I type faster and cleaner than the next guy I suppose.  Even as I bang out this blog entry it dawns on me that I will have spent a sum total of maybe two minutes typing a few hundred to maybe a thousand words with my deft skills.... it's the thought that counts... I suppose it's all rambling BS any way you look at it but hey for you two loyal fans out there I suppose I should keep it up?
 
In any event, just wanted to tell the world I'm not gone, just dormant for the cold season!  New ventures are coming soon!
