So many of us in the captive propagation, super reef geek hobbyist, plankton fanatic, and super informed world saw it coming.  Reed Mariculture one of my favorite companies has been paying attention to us breeders for years under the radar and supplying us with ounce upon ounce, pound upon pound... of  feeds.  For those who dont get what I'm flapping about Reed Mariculture is one of (if not the) largest provider of feeds for hatcheries and fish farms worldwide, they also have a hobbyist line under the name of Reef Nutrition providing much of the same products for hobbyists who like to feed the reef!

All of the kumbaya aside I always find it funny when I meet with someone from Reed Mariculture as it is typically Randy Reed (one of the owners) or Gresham Hendee (I'd like to say marketing but Greshams job is pretty much to do everything.... he's pretty much the planktonic bitch).  Both of which I like a lot, they're great people... and they do a good job of jiving me about the fact that I still culture my own algae.  It is in fact cheaper when one considers time and investment to purchase their products.  I wont lie, I cannot waver... I love my cultures and cant stop... though I do keep several bags and bottles of the Reed product line in my fridge and freezer (dont tell Randy or Gresh).

In any case, Reed Mariculture and it's people have proven to provide some of the highest quality products and service out there, and they have also been one of the most supportive companies to embrace the captive propagation movement with open arms.  All jiving aside... they are great people!  And they have released a new great line of products that some of us have had the ability to see ahead of time and are *very* excited!!!

Enter APBreed!!!  www.apbreed.com The Reeds have pulled no punches taking their already high quality super and fantastic product lines for large scale hatcheries to smaller packages with longer shelf lives, additives to induce coloration, oh and buffering the cloram-X... brilliant!!  And following in the footsteps of the great Frank Hoff they have formulated readily available prepared feeds and nutritional enrichments for rotifers and other zooplankters.  Truly a breakthrough!

and whats more.... huuuuuhhhh.... Parvocalanus copepods??

Thanks Reed!  as always you guys rock!

Now if you can send Gresham over next sunday to split my cultures while I nap in my hammock...
