clownfish

Gravid female peppermint shrimp, and a new pair of black darwin occellaris!

Well... so some new changes... dropped off the last of my available clownfish babies to the local shop Seascape Aquatics and picked up a pair of black Amphiprion ocellaris (known as darwin clowns due to the region).  Hoping I can get these two to start spawning soon but they appear to be juviniles still so now we play the waiting game... here they are (apologies for the poor shot) just after introduction into the tank

clownfish spawning video!

Finally got around to chopping at the video I got a few weeks ago of my clownfish pair spawning.  Quite interesting!!  Note how the female's ovipositor is exposed, she is like this today which means they will be spawning soon!!

The morning after!

Alrighty it's morning after hatch... and off we go!
I can visibly see and count around 20-30 fry at this time, I've got my copepod/rotifer drip going from the enteral pump @ 150ml/hour and I'm pretty well set so far I think.
Happy with the snagger, but definately need to make some more changes, I'll keep you guys updated!!!

clownfish hatch!!!

Alrighty!!!  WE HAVE HATCH!!!  so just a little while ago at about 11:45 PM the hatch began, the snagger is working well though I have my doubts on the ability of the red light perhaps I will try blue, yellow, or white.... we shall see in future runs!!

clownin around

So on hatch night (I hope) I wait here patiently with my larval snagger at the ready, mom and dad are doin they're thing and I'm just here for the show (and to move babies).

So while I wait, I present pictures of the two survivors from the first attempt a month ago... enjoy!
